Girls Coach

Program: Utah County ASCENT Lacrosse (Girls)

Position Overview

Utah County Lacrosse is seeking a Girls ASCENT Coach to lead and support our developmental lacrosse program for girls. This role focuses on teaching strong fundamentals, building confidence, and creating a positive, supportive team environment for young athletes.

The ASCENT program is designed as a stepping stone for players—helping girls develop the skills, game understanding, and mindset needed to succeed at the middle school, high school, and club levels, while fostering a love for the game.

Key Responsibilities

Coaching & Player Development

  • Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate practices centered on individual skill development
  • Teach proper stick skills, footwork, positioning, and lacrosse IQ
  • Emphasize confidence, effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship
  • Create a fun, encouraging environment where players feel safe to learn and grow

Team Leadership

  • Build positive relationships with players and families
  • Set clear expectations for behavior, effort, and development
  • Serve as a positive role model and leader for young athletes
  • Support and model the ASCENT coaching philosophy and culture

Program Support

  • Communicate with the Program Coordinator regarding schedules and logistics
  • Assist with clinics, training sessions, or special events as needed
  • Provide feedback on player progress throughout the season
Qualifications
  • Playing or coaching experience in girls lacrosse (high school, club, or collegiate level preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to connect with young athletes
  • Positive, patient, and development-focused coaching style
  • Dependable, organized, and team-oriented
  • Passion for growing girls lacrosse and supporting youth athletes
