Program: Utah County ASCENT Lacrosse (Boys)
Position Overview
Utah County Lacrosse is seeking a Boys ASCENT Coach to lead and support our developmental lacrosse program for boys. This role focuses on teaching the fundamentals of the game, building confidence, and creating a positive team environment for young athletes.
Our ASCENT program is designed to be a stepping stone—helping players develop strong skills, game understanding, and a love for lacrosse as they prepare for middle school, high school, and club-level play.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching & Player Development
- Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate practices focused on fundamentals
- Teach proper stick skills, footwork, positioning, and lacrosse IQ
- Emphasize effort, sportsmanship, and teamwork
- Create a fun, encouraging environment where players feel confident to learn
Team Leadership
- Foster positive relationships with players and families
- Set clear expectations for behavior, effort, and growth
- Support the overall ASCENT culture and coaching philosophy
Program Support
- Communicate with the Program Coordinator regarding schedules and logistics
- Assist with clinics, training sessions, or special events as needed
- Help evaluate player progress and provide feedback throughout the season
Qualifications
- Playing or coaching experience in boys lacrosse (high school, club, or collegiate level preferred)
- Strong communication skills and ability to connect with young athletes
- Positive, patient, and development-minded coaching approach
- Dependable and organized
- Passion for growing the game and supporting youth development
